FRAMINGHAM, MA, June 15, 2006 – IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, today announced that sponsorship opportunities for this year’s event have almost sold out, signifying continued momentum and interest in the adoption of emerging technologies related to service-oriented IT. This year’s lead sponsors are EMC2 and Oracle. GridWorld is scheduled to take place September 11-14, 2006 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
GridWorld, produced in collaboration with the Global Grid Forum/EnterpriseGrid Alliance (GGF/EGA) and GlobusWORLD, is a B2B conference focused on the commercial benefits of grid computing for Enterprise IT strategists worldwide. In addition to the GGF 18 Community and Standards Program, this year’s event will introduce two new programs: the Solutions Program, which focuses on the business case for grid, strategic business solutions and value for Senior IT Management; and the Technology Program which will explain the “how-to’s” of grid deployment with technically oriented content across all platforms, proprietary and open source, for IT Architects, Technology Innovators, Developers, System Administrators, IT Managers, Integrators and Architects.
"As a key component of next-generation information infrastructures, grid technology enables customers to improve computer utilization, enhance information access and workflow, optimize distributed information access, and deliver faster time-to-results," said Ian Baird, General Manager for Grid and Utility Computing, EMC Corp. "EMC is proud to be a premier sponsor at GridWorld and we look forward to the opportunity to further build awareness and momentum in the commercial grid market space."
"AMD is looking forward to GridWorld and the opportunity to highlight our grid initiatives," said Terri Hall, Vice President, Software Alliances.
