Global General Manager, Grid and Utility Computing, EMC Corp.
Ian is responsible for driving EMC's Grid business unit, strategy and solution offerings. He joined EMC in 2005 as the CTO for Grid and developed EMC's Grid strategy, leading to an investment in Yotta Yotta and the acquisition of Acxiom's Grid technology. Prior to joining EMC, Ian was responsible for spearheading Platform Computing's grid computing, marketing and business strategy and operations. Ian has played an active role in accelerating grid standards development and led Platform Computing's involvement in the development of the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA). Ian served as president of NPI Inc, a grid industry consortium, and sits on the boards of both the Global Grid Forum, and the Enterprise Grid Alliance. Before Platform Computing, Ian was SVP with BCE Emergis, a publicly-traded e-commerce company.
