Speaker: Lisa Childers, Technical Product Manager, Argonne National Lab.
The open source Globus Toolkit is a fundamental enabling technology for
the Grid, allowing people to share computing power, databases and other
tools securely across corporate, institutional, and geographic boundaries.
The toolkit includes software services and libraries for resource
monitoring, discovery, security, execution and data management. In
addition to being a central part of science and engineering projects, the
Globus Toolkit is a substrate on which leading IT companies are building
commercial Grid projects.
This session will provide an overview of the Globus Development Roadmap, a
public document in which the future technical directions of the Globus
Toolkit are described. Attendees will also learn how they can affect the
future development directions of Globus Toolkit.
