All businesses are feeling the impact of three forces in the form of both increasing technology variations, and amounts; communication, content and collaboration. In parallel are the pressures to manage the existing legacy applications for less cost, but also to address new requirements around compliance and local legislation. Taken together the need to simultaneously share resources internally and to integrate process and resources externally, whilst struggling to understand the role of Services Oriented Architecture, SOA has led to a loss of sight of the overall big picture. This presentation concerns how to see the Grid as a strategic part of addressing the tactical drivers of current activities.
