Franco Travostino is a Consulting Architect and Director in the Advanced Technology/CTO Office at Nortel Networks. He's based in Boston, MA. Franco brought Grids to Nortel, and brought Nortel to GlobusWORLD, GGF. Travostino serves as co-chair for the High Performance Networking group at the Global Grid Forum. Recently, he was also the co-chair for the 1st Workshop on Networks for Grids. Travostino's recent activities include: SAN protocols, secure communication at gigabit rate, service-enabled and application-engaged networks, grid network middleware (the DRAC project). Prior to joining Nortel, he held sr. research and development positions in both the operating systems and networking communities.
